Drives
Sleeping Beauty: The Game » Devlog
Recently in class we discussed "drives", and how we can use them to motivate the player. So, I began considering what drives I could use to make my game more engaging.
What with my level being based on Sleeping Beauty, I felt an important drive to implement would be romance. I also wanted to implement curiosity and idealism as I felt those would fit with the fairy tale setting. I will accomplish this by adding some text at the beginning of the level detailing the backstory (you, the prince, have found an abandoned castle, why don't you go explore it?), by adding a few more puzzles and visual clues about the story, and finally, add a princess laying in the bed instead of a placeholder statue.
